IDF Prepares for Jewish High Holidays with Large-Scale West Bank Drills
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has launched a large-scale exercise in the West Bank simulating thousands of Palestinians overrunning settlements and the seam line, in preparation for the upcoming Jewish High Holidays of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot. The drills, involving 26 battalions currently operating in the region, are designed to test the forces' response times, firepower, and coordination with police, Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency medical services, and civilian neighborhood watch teams.
The exercise, initiated by the IDF's West Bank Division (referred to as the Judea and Samaria Division in the source), involves all regional brigades and battalions being deployed simultaneously to dozens of training areas. The division commander emphasized the need for commanders to conduct personal readiness checks for every soldier, ensuring not only battalion and company-level alertness but also individual soldier preparedness.
