Sudan Rebel Advisor Claims Army Uses Chemical Weapons, Warns Israel

An advisor to the commander of Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF) rebel militia, Imran Abdullah, has confirmed reports that the Sudanese army has developed and is using chemical weapons. In an interview with Kan 11 News, Abdullah stated that during the ongoing civil war, which has lasted over three and a half years, the army has targeted populated areas with chlorine gas. He described these actions as "great atrocities against humanity," adding that the actual quantities of the weapons used are larger than previously reported.

Abdullah characterized the Sudanese army as the military wing of the "Muslim Brotherhood," maintaining close ties with Hamas and Iran. "This is not a national army, it is an ideological army," he emphasized. "They are using weapons they received from Iran against the Sudanese people." He called for the international community to outlaw the army and issued a stark warning to regional countries: "This group is considered the right hand of Iran and ISIS, and Israel will not be spared from these chemical weapons."

Alongside his accusations against the army, Abdullah distanced the RSF from atrocities committed by his militia's fighters. He dismissed allegations of war crimes as "isolated violations" that should be handled at an individual level, claiming they were carried out by groups previously established by the Sudanese army itself. He also avoided commenting on evidence of severe massacres allegedly committed by his fighters in October of last year during the capture of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur and the army's last stronghold in the region.

While Abdullah previously asserted that his forces adhere to international law, the Sudan Doctors Network has claimed the militia committed a massacre against the city's residents. Reports have been supported by documentation showing militia gunmen executing unarmed civilians and captured soldiers.
