Netanyahu Vows to Prevent Iran Nuclear Weapons Amid Northern Strikes

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Thursday that Iran is attempting to re-arm with nuclear weapons, confirming remarks made by U.S. President Donald Trump. Speaking from the Western Wall, Netanyahu asserted, "As long as I am prime minister, Iran will not have nuclear weapons." He referenced past Israeli actions to destroy Iran's immediate nuclear capabilities and vowed to continue confronting Iran's influence, citing ongoing strikes against the Iranian axis in Gaza, Lebanon, and specifically mentioning operations at the Al-Tahar ridge.

Concurrently with Netanyahu's statement, the IDF's Northern Command announced planned strikes in the Lebanon border area. The Golan Regional Council informed residents that the sounds of explosions would be heard in the Galilee finger and Golan Heights regions, clarifying that these were Israeli military operations and no changes were needed to civilian directives.

President Trump, speaking at a Republican Party rally in Dallas, had previously stated that the U.S. could not allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons. He alluded to potential strikes on an underground facility referred to as "Mountain of Fire," noting observed activity there. Trump also highlighted the U.S. military's advanced surveillance capabilities, including space-based observation, which he claimed allowed them to monitor activities and even read insignia from thousands of miles away.

Netanyahu's remarks and the IDF's planned strikes come amid heightened regional tensions and underscore Israel's commitment to preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear arms, while also actively engaging Iranian-backed forces in neighboring territories.
