Netanyahu Backs Trump, Vows Iran Will Not Get Nuclear Weapons

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Iran is once again seeking to develop nuclear weapons, corroborating recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump. Speaking at the Western Wall ahead of Rosh Hashanah, Netanyahu asserted, "The American president said today that Iran is again striving to possess nuclear weapons. This is true." He added that Iran is attempting to restart its nuclear program after its capabilities for immediate bomb production were dismantled during operations "People Like a Lion" and "Lion's Roar." Netanyahu pledged that Iran would not acquire nuclear weapons as long as he remains prime minister.

Netanyahu also highlighted Israel's ongoing efforts to counter Iranian influence and operations, stating that Israel is striking the "Iranian axis" with heavy blows in Gaza and Lebanon. He specifically mentioned clearing the Beaufort Ridge and continuing operations on the Al-Taher Ridge, indicating further actions are planned. Earlier, President Trump had estimated that the conflict with Iran would conclude around the time of the U.S. midterm congressional elections in November.
