Netanyahu vows Iran will not get nuclear weapons while he is prime minister
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded on Friday to rumors about what he called a “reckless” deal between Iran and the United States. He said that as long as he is prime minister of Israel, Iran will not obtain nuclear weapons.
Netanyahu added that he has “full agreement” on the issue with President Donald Trump. He said he has spent more than 30 years leading the international fight against Iran’s nuclear program, and argued that without that effort, Iran would already have had atomic bombs aimed at Israel.
“Iran is working to destroy the Jewish state, and I devote my life to preventing them from doing so,” Netanyahu said. He repeated that “as long as I am prime minister of Israel, it will not happen.”
