Netanyahu Vows to Prevent Iran From Acquiring Nuclear Weapons With or Without Agreement

The statement was made during the reburial of the remains of Shimon and Rivka Herzl, the grandparents of Theodor Herzl, the founder of modern Zionism, whose bones were brought from Serbia to Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.

Netanyahu referenced recent explicit statements by Iran's Revolutionary Guards about their intent to develop nuclear arms, emphasizing his determination to counter this threat. He highlighted the strong alliance between Israel and the United States, praising then-President Donald Trump as a great friend of Israel and noting their joint efforts to curb Iran's nuclear ambitions.

The prime minister underscored that Israel's existence is non-negotiable and affirmed that Israel will do whatever is necessary to ensure its security and future. He connected the Herzl family legacy to the foundations of Zionism, including Judaism, the Torah, and the Bible, describing how the dreams of Herzl's grandparents transformed into a practical plan that changed Jewish history.

Netanyahu also addressed internal Israeli unity, especially in light of the events following October 7, stressing that Israel cannot allow the establishment of a Palestinian terror state aimed at destroying the Jewish nation-state. He praised the Israel Defense Forces and called on Israelis to resist external slanders infiltrating the country. He concluded by affirming that the Zionist vision has triumphed and that, with divine help and the strength of Israel's fighters, victory continues.
