Firefighters Gain Control of Blaze in Wadi Ara Region
Fire and rescue services announced on Tuesday that they have gained control of a wildfire near Mu'awiya in the Wadi Ara region. Upon arrival, emergency crews determined the fire involved brush that had spread into a wooded area.
Five firefighting teams worked across multiple fronts, successfully halting the fire's advance in the northern sector. Simultaneously, the 'Elad' aerial firefighting unit supported ground crews with water-dropping aircraft that deployed foam over the fire's hotspots.
It was later discovered that piles of waste and cardboard were also burning at the site. Consequently, smoke is expected to remain visible in the area for the coming hours.
