Suspicious Object Found Near Rabbi Nachman's Tomb in Uman, Police Respond

Israeli police officers operating in Uman, Ukraine, responded on Thursday to a report of a suspicious object found in a plaza near the tomb of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov. The Israeli officers immediately alerted their Ukrainian counterparts and worked together to cordon off the area to allow bomb disposal experts to handle the object.

Israeli police stated that all Israeli citizens are safe. The joint operation involved both Israeli and Ukrainian forces securing the scene, evacuating civilians, and enabling the bomb squad to neutralize the suspicious item. The Israeli police contingent in Uman is part of a special deployment to assist the tens of thousands of Israeli pilgrims visiting for the upcoming High Holidays.

In a separate incident on Thursday, Israeli police officers in Uman helped reunite a lost 7-year-old Israeli boy with his parents. The child, who was reportedly very confused and frightened, had lost contact with his parents. Police questioned the child and people in the area, ultimately locating his parents.

The presence of Israeli police in Uman is a routine measure during the annual pilgrimage period for Breslov Hasidim, who gather in large numbers to visit Rabbi Nachman's grave for Rosh Hashanah. The officers provide assistance with various issues, including missing persons, technical problems, and maintaining public order and security.
