Prominent Rabbis Complete Torah Scroll in Honor of Deceased Scholars
A Torah scroll completion ceremony took place last night (Wednesday) at the home of Menachem Gashid, a disciple of Rabbi Yitzchak Tuvia Weiss, the Ga'avad of Makov. The event was held to honor the memory of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Lowenberger, former Av Beit Din of Polgar, Hungary, and his wife, Miriam Yuta. Several Hasidic leaders (Admorim) and rabbis participated in the ceremony, which involved writing the final letters of the Torah scroll using a traditional goose feather quill. The event was documented by photographer Yaakov Nechumi.
