IDF Commander Praises Settler Leadership Partnership in Counter-Terror Efforts

Major General Avi Blott, commander of the IDF Central Command, met with leaders of the Yesha Council (representing Israeli settlements in the West Bank) at the Central Command base in Jerusalem for a special Rosh Hashanah gathering. The meeting included an updated security assessment and a toast for the upcoming Jewish New Year.

During the session, Blott emphasized the critical importance of the partnership between the settler leadership and the security forces, including the IDF and law enforcement. He stated that this collaboration is essential for thwarting terror attacks, maintaining Israeli governance, and ensuring a stable daily life for residents in the region.

"Our partnership is what produces counter-terrorism, it is what produces governance and law enforcement, and it enables the principle, a living citizen experiences routine, and terror meets the army," Blott declared. He cautioned against attempts to create divisions between the different systems, warning that such efforts directly harm operational effectiveness on the ground.

Blott stressed the significant responsibility shared by both military commanders and elected officials in leading the region. Israel Gantz, head of the Binyamin Regional Council and chairman of the Yesha Council, thanked the soldiers and security forces for their protection and support of settlement growth. He expressed hope for a year of settlement, growth, and development, with the army defeating Israel's enemies and all soldiers returning home safely.
