IDF Central Command Chief Warns Against Division Among Security Forces

Major General Avi Blout, commander of the IDF's Central Command, has cautioned against attempts to create divisions between security and civilian bodies, particularly in light of ongoing challenges with governance and Jewish terrorism in the West Bank. Speaking against a backdrop of a plan by Minister Katz to transfer authorities to the police, Blout emphasized the critical importance of inter-organizational cooperation for effective counter-terrorism.

Blout stated that when entities operate in isolation or when attempts are made to sow discord, operational effectiveness on the ground diminishes. He praised the existing partnership and dialogue between the IDF, civilian leadership, local council heads, and other security forces, noting that even criticisms are handled internally, leading to continuous improvement.

He stressed that the synergy between the civilian sector, including regional council leaders, and the IDF, as well as among the security forces themselves, is what enables successful counter-terrorism operations. This cooperation, he explained, ensures that civilians can maintain their daily routines while security forces effectively confront terrorist threats.
