Joint List Urges Unified List to Sign Vote Surplus Agreement

Yousef Jabareen, head of the Joint List, called on the Unified List on Thursday to sign a vote surplus agreement. The goal is to reduce the waste of Arab votes in the upcoming elections. Jabareen emphasized that this agreement would not negate the political differences between the two lists.

Jabareen stated that while serious political disagreements exist, discussions should be conducted respectfully, avoiding divisive rhetoric or language that creates tension. He believes this step sends an important social message, demonstrating that competition and debate can occur in a positive atmosphere.

He further suggested that the Arab community's election campaign should focus on its strengths rather than its opponents' weaknesses. Differences in positions, he argued, should not preclude constructive dialogue managed with clear and persuasive discourse that maintains a positive environment.

Jabareen characterized the upcoming elections not as a conflict between Arab political lists, but as a struggle against a "fascist government" for the community's existence and future. He stressed that the priority should be increasing voter turnout and preventing vote wastage.

He asserted that a strong Joint List in the Knesset, with ten or more members, is essential to topple the "fascist, racist, and genocidal government." This, he added, will be the Joint List's primary message during its election campaign.
