Israel Boosts Security Ahead of Autumn Holidays
Israel has initiated a significant security reinforcement across the country, effective September 11, 2026, to cover the autumn holiday period. This heightened security posture will remain in place until the conclusion of Simchat Torah on October 3.
Thousands of police officers, Border Guard (MAGAV) soldiers, and volunteers have been deployed for increased duty nationwide, according to Ynet. Additional police and security forces are stationed at synagogues, mass prayer sites, religious shrines, public parks, and major commercial and entertainment centers.
Police patrols are active on streets, at transportation hubs, and in pedestrian-heavy areas, utilizing aerial and maritime resources for surveillance. Authorities anticipate significant traffic congestion due to the heightened alert and advise drivers to plan journeys in advance and adhere to traffic laws.
Law enforcement is also warning citizens about the risk of burglaries while people are away for the holidays. Residents are advised to inform neighbors of their absence and avoid posting about empty homes on social media. For emergencies, the public should call 100, and traffic updates are available via number 110.
