Israel Electric Corp. Orders 800 New Commercial Vehicles in $26 Million Deal

Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) is upgrading its operational vehicle fleet with the acquisition of 800 new commercial vehicles as part of its efficiency strategy. The NIS 100 million (approximately $26 million) tender for operational leasing was awarded to Eldan, which will supply the vehicles and provide comprehensive maintenance and service for up to four years.

The Fiat Doblo van has been selected to gradually replace the IEC's existing fleet. These vehicles will be supplied by Samlat, the official importer of Fiat in Israel. The first batch of vehicles is expected to be delivered by the end of the first quarter of 2027.

This marks Eldan's second consecutive win for an IEC tender, following a successful collaboration in 2022. The IEC views the updated fleet as crucial for its field teams, who provide around-the-clock service and respond to infrastructure issues under varying conditions. The upgrade aims to significantly enhance operational efficiency and ensure continuous, high-quality service for all Israeli citizens.

"A modern, safe, and reliable vehicle fleet is a necessary condition for the work of our field teams," said Tami Pekler, IEC's VP of Operations, Logistics, and Procurement. "This move will allow us to improve operational efficiency and continue to provide continuous and quality service to the citizens of Israel."

Eldan's co-CEO Avishai Levi expressed pleasure in continuing the partnership, stating, "The win of the IEC tender is an expression of confidence in Eldan's capabilities to provide full operational leasing services in significant volumes to large business clients." Ronen Levi, VP of the business division at Samlat, added that the Fiat Doblo van's suitability for the client's needs and their ability to provide a significant, high-quality solution were key factors in the deal.
