NBA Star Deni Avdija Invites Israeli Fan With Unique Skill to Halftime Show

NBA player Deni Avdija has extended a special invitation to Naor Piron, an Israeli fan who has gained attention for his remarkable basketball shooting ability using his feet. Avdija, who plays for the Portland Trail Blazers, saw a video of Piron showcasing his skills and was so impressed that he invited him to perform during halftime of an upcoming NBA game in Portland.

Piron, who lives with a severe physical disability affecting all four limbs, developed the ability to perform various tasks, including sports, with his feet. The invitation came after Piron shared a video of himself making shots with his feet, which Avdija directly responded to with the offer, "Come shoot at halftime of my game?"

Piron, who is the son of former Israeli Education Minister Shi Piron, expressed surprise and excitement that his video reached Avdija and resulted in an official invitation. Despite receiving a medical exemption from mandatory military service in Israel, Piron volunteered and currently serves in the Home Front Command.

The gesture has garnered attention in both Israel and the United States, with American sports media, which regularly covers player interactions with fans, also reporting on the event. Both parties are currently coordinating schedules to make the halftime performance possible during the upcoming NBA season at Portland's home arena.
