Herzog Visits Cyprus, Envisions Future Meeting with Lebanese President

President Isaac Herzog arrived in Cyprus on Thursday for an official visit, where he was welcomed by Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides at the Presidential Palace. The two leaders held political and expanded bilateral meetings to discuss deepening cooperation and strengthening relations between Israel and Cyprus.

During the discussions, Herzog expressed his aspiration for a future meeting involving the presidents of Israel, Cyprus, and Lebanon in Cyprus. "My dream is that one day we can meet here, the President of Lebanon, the President of Cyprus, and the President of Israel. I hope we can achieve such a dream, because I believe we must move towards peace in the region, while ensuring the rejection and distancing of 'terrorism,' and enabling the peoples and countries of the region to flourish together, for the well-being of the region and the entire world," Herzog stated.

The Cypriot President indicated that the talks would focus on enhancing the strategic partnership between the two nations, alongside regional developments and potential collaboration with other like-minded countries. He also noted a record number of flights from Israel to Cyprus during the summer, exceeding 200 weekly flights, a significant increase from the previous average of around 140.

Following his visit to the Presidential Palace, Herzog was expected to return to Israel.
