Herzog Visits Cyprus Amidst Tensions with Turkey

Israeli President Isaac Herzog is scheduled to embark on a brief diplomatic visit to Cyprus this Thursday, following an invitation from Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides. The visit occurs against a backdrop of ongoing tensions between Israel and Turkey.

During his stay, President Herzog will be received at the Presidential Palace by President Christodoulides. The two leaders will hold a political meeting to discuss deepening cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations. This will be followed by an expanded meeting with delegations from both nations, led by the presidents. Both presidents are expected to address the public at the opening of this session.

The visit is expected to last only a few hours, with Herzog returning to Israel on the same day. According to the President's Residence, the trip is a continuation of the working relationship between the two presidents. President Christodoulides previously visited Israel in December 2025, meeting with President Herzog at the President's Residence in Jerusalem.
