Herzog Proposes Trilateral Summit with Lebanon and Cyprus Presidents

Israeli President Isaac Herzog arrived in Cyprus on Thursday for a brief diplomatic visit, during which he met with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides. The two leaders held an expanded bilateral meeting aimed at strengthening relations and deepening cooperation between their countries.

During the visit, President Herzog expressed his admiration for Cyprus and its development, calling President Christodoulides a "great friend of Israel." He articulated a "dream" of a future trilateral summit involving the presidents of Lebanon, Cyprus, and Israel, emphasizing the need to advance peace in the region while rejecting terrorism and fostering prosperity.

President Christodoulides welcomed Herzog back to Cyprus and looked forward to discussions on deepening their strategic partnership. He also noted the significant increase in flights from Israel to Cyprus, with a record number of over 200 flights per week during the summer, compared to a previous average of around 140.

Both leaders expressed a desire to work together, potentially with other like-minded nations, to create stability and security in the region. Herzog conveyed a message of friendship from Israel, hoping to further enhance the unique partnership between their peoples and nations.
