Against the backdrop of the security situation, the president visited northern Israel and addressed residents and Lebanon’s leadership in Arabic with a special message. At the start of his remarks, President Isaac Herzog said, “I am here, on the Lebanon border, in Moshav Netu’a and throughout the area. This area is under constant attack and is showing extraordinary resilience. There are amazing people here, and Israel must give it the highest national priority to allow full and complete lives, while we are fighting and conducting a full campaign that concerns the entire region. The Iranians are trying to turn this area into part of the organs within the campaign, and we will not allow them to do that. We must not allow them to harm the residents of the north, who need to receive top priority in every field. Especially in the anchors of industry, employment, tourism and agriculture, to allow everyone to continue living here and raise many more generations of proud Israeli citizens on the border until peace also comes here, with God’s help.”

Herzog addressed the president of Lebanon: “I saw your message on CNN and I want to make a proposal, there is no greater dream than Israelis being able to get in a car and reach Beirut, it is only up to you. Denounce Hezbollah from among you, remove Iran and its proxies. Do not be afraid, say it and do it. Israel is not asking for wars and wants peace with Lebanon, it is up to you.”

The president also spoke in Arabic to the government and people of Lebanon: “I extend a hand for peace to the president of Lebanon and the Lebanese people, but your duty is to ensure Lebanon’s freedom from the dictates of Hezbollah, Iran and terrorist organizations, so that it preserves its status as a sovereign and independent state.” Earlier, the president met in Moshav Netu’a with tourism professionals, dairy farmers, farmers and local business owners, and heard from them about day-to-day coping and the challenges on the ground. Those present brought with them local agricultural produce they manufacture in the north.
