Serial Scammer Indicted After Attacking TV Reporter

A woman accused of defrauding dozens of people across Israel faces charges in court following a dramatic confrontation with a television reporter. Margot Jessie Sitbon, 31, of Netanya, has been indicted on 16 counts including theft, forgery, and aggravated fraud by the Central District Attorney's Office. The indictment, filed at the Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court by attorney Liora Komcha, details a premeditated scheme where Sitbon allegedly targeted private sellers on Facebook Marketplace.

Sitbon is accused of presenting fake payment confirmations or using stolen checks to obtain goods without paying. The case escalated significantly when the investigative team of the Channel 12 program "The Scammers," led by reporter Adva Dadon, located Sitbon for a filmed confrontation.

During the encounter, Sitbon and her associates allegedly physically assaulted Dadon and her camera crew. The violent incident necessitated the involvement of police and Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency services, leading to a police chase and Sitbon's arrest. Her detention was extended multiple times before the formal charges were filed.

The investigation and subsequent indictment stem from Sitbon's alleged serial scamming activities, which targeted numerous victims throughout the country.
