Israeli Serial Fraudster 'Baby Face' Admits Guilt and Faces Prison Sentence
Idit Tova Rozenberg, a 28-year-old woman from Beersheba known as the "Baby Face" fraudster, pleaded guilty to multiple charges of fraud, theft, and impersonation in a Beersheba Magistrate's Court hearing on July 9, 2026. Despite her innocent appearance, Rozenberg was revealed as a sophisticated serial con artist who exploited the goodwill of kind-hearted citizens, including families of reservists and volunteers during the "Sword of Iron" military operation.
Rozenberg used stolen identities and forged documents to deceive businesses and individuals. She would gain the trust of her victims, often staying in their homes, then steal credit cards, cash, and personal information to make purchases worth tens of thousands of shekels and fraudulently obtain loans in their names. One notable victim, identified only as A., helped her during the conflict by providing groceries and dental care, only to have Rozenberg steal from his family while staying at their home.
The fraudster’s criminal activities were exposed in 2022 by journalist Lior Shalev on Mako. Rozenberg’s victims included students, compassionate citizens who offered her shelter, and even her own relatives who housed her for years. During the court session, Rozenberg was brought in custody, broke down in tears, and refused to communicate with those around her. She admitted to 11 charges and is currently awaiting sentencing.
Her case highlights a cruel exploitation of empathy, as she repeatedly took advantage of people who sought to help her. The court proceedings will continue with arguments regarding her punishment, after which her sentence will be determined.
