Serial Con Artist Known as 'Baby Face' Admits Guilt and Faces Prison Sentence
Idit Tova Rozenberg, a 28-year-old woman from Beersheba known as the 'Baby Face' con artist, pleaded guilty to multiple charges of fraud, theft, and impersonation in a Beersheba court on July 9, 2026. Despite her innocent appearance, Rozenberg was revealed to be a sophisticated serial fraudster who exploited the goodwill of individuals who tried to help her. She used stolen identities and fake IDs to deceive businesses and committed numerous thefts from those who offered her assistance.
Rozenberg’s criminal activities included stealing credit cards, photographing identification documents, and purchasing goods worth tens of thousands of shekels under false pretenses. One notable victim, identified only as A, helped her during the "Sword of Iron" conflict by providing groceries and dental care and even hosted her at his mother's home. Rozenberg took advantage of this hospitality to steal cash, credit cards, and a mobile phone from the household.
Her offenses came to light in 2022 through investigative reporting by Lior Shalev on Mako. Among her many victims were families of reservists and volunteers from the "Sword of Iron" war, students, compassionate citizens who offered her shelter, and even her own relatives who housed her for years. Rozenberg’s pattern involved exploiting the trust of those who showed her kindness, then stealing from them and attempting fraudulent loans in their names.
During the court session, Rozenberg was brought in custody, visibly emotional and refusing to communicate with others. She admitted to 11 charges against her and is currently awaiting sentencing. The court will soon determine her punishment based on the severity of her crimes and the impact on her victims.
