Thousands of Professionals Leave Businesses for Torah Study Retreat

The fourth annual 'Yarchei Kallah' conference, organized by the 'Achvat Torah' organization, will take place on Wednesday, October 12th, at the Ramada Hotel in Jerusalem. The event aims to provide a full day of Torah study for professionals who temporarily leave their businesses and offices to immerse themselves in religious learning.

The conference, held between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, is designed to recreate the atmosphere of a traditional yeshiva study hall. Participants engage in group study sessions, one-on-one learning, and discussions on various Torah topics, alongside lectures from prominent rabbis and experts. The core of the event focuses on active learning, encouraging attendees to open religious texts, engage with peers, and delve deeply into complex subjects.

Rabbi David Leibl, president and founder of Achvat Torah, will deliver the keynote address. This year's event is expected to be larger than previous years, with expanded content and sessions. Organizers emphasize that it is not merely a series of lectures but an interactive learning experience.

"Our goal is for a person to open a book themselves, connect with a topic, argue with the person sitting next to them, and leave at the end of the day with something they have learned," said Pinchas Einhorn, deputy CEO of Achvat Torah. He encouraged the public to register and attend, regardless of prior experience.

The event will also feature a market for the Four Species in preparation for the Sukkot holiday, with refreshments and lunch provided. Achvat Torah views the conference as an ideal preparation for the High Holy Days, bringing together individuals with a shared desire for spiritual connection.
