Torah Brotherhood Holds Fourth Annual 'Kallah Moon' Study Day
The Torah Brotherhood organization is holding its fourth annual 'Kallah Moon' study day, an event dedicated to intensive Torah study for the general public. This year's event, taking place between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, is described as the largest yet in terms of content and lectures.
The 'Kallah Moon' initiative aims to provide a day for Jewish men to set aside their business and work to immerse themselves in Torah study, discussion, and learning. The event is designed to foster an environment akin to a yeshiva (a traditional Jewish learning institution), with participants engaging in study circles, partner learning (chevruta), and sessions chosen by attendees.
Phineas Einhorn, Deputy CEO of Torah Brotherhood, emphasized that the event is not merely a series of lectures. "The goal is for a person to open a book themselves, connect with a topic, debate with the person next to them, and leave at the end of the day with something they learned," he stated. He encouraged both past attendees and newcomers to register and participate.
The day's program also includes a Four Species market in preparation for the Sukkot holiday, with refreshments and lunch provided to participants. Torah Brotherhood is promoting the event as an ideal preparation for the upcoming High Holy Days, bringing together individuals with a shared desire for connection to Torah.
