National Guard Arrests 28 Illegal Immigrants in Pre-Holiday Sweep
The National Guard, part of the Border Police, has intensified operations to locate and apprehend illegal residents across Israel in preparation for the upcoming Rosh Hashanah holiday. Over the past week, 28 individuals without legal status were arrested during sweeps conducted by the Northern and Central divisions of the force.
The operations involved extensive searches, mobile patrols, checkpoints, and targeted raids on businesses and locations suspected of harboring illegal workers. In the northern region, forces apprehended 22 individuals in the cities of Sakhnin and Tamra. Some were found in commercial establishments, while others attempted to flee during nighttime operations.
Concurrently, the Central division's forces detained six additional individuals in Tayibe and Qalansawe. All apprehended suspects were taken into custody for further investigation and processing.
The police emphasized that these heightened security measures will continue throughout the holiday period to ensure public safety and a secure holiday for all citizens.
