Israel Detains Migrants and Smugglers in Northern Operations
Israeli police apprehended two undocumented migrants from Jenin and an Israeli resident suspected of transporting them in the northern city of Acre. The vehicle was stopped at a temporary checkpoint near the Horseshoe Beach in the Old City, where officers discovered the passengers were Palestinian Authority residents present in Israel without authorization. All three individuals were arrested.
In a separate incident in Rechasim, police detained an undocumented migrant found working at a construction site, along with his employer. Authorities stated the migrant was in Israel illegally.
Additionally, Acre police concluded a swift investigation into another undocumented migrant detained days prior, filing an indictment against her.
The police emphasized these operations are part of an ongoing effort to combat illegal residency in Israel. Law enforcement agencies plan to continue targeting both undocumented migrants and those who facilitate their presence by providing transportation, housing, or employment.
