Paramedics Deliver Baby Near Rabbi Nachman's Tomb in Uman

Paramedics from the United Hatzalah emergency service delivered a baby girl early Thursday morning near the tomb of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov in Uman, Ukraine. The mother and newborn were transported to a local hospital in good condition.

Paramedics Dana Weber and Shulamit Tzarfati responded to a call about a woman in active labor near the holy site. They assisted with the delivery, and the baby was born healthy and whole. "I was called to a case of a delivery near the tomb of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, and I found that the labor was progressing rapidly," said Weber. "I began to provide the necessary assistance to ensure her well-being and that of the baby on the way. Within a short time, thank God, a healthy and whole baby girl was born."

The mother and infant were taken by a United Hatzalah ambulance for further examinations and monitoring at a local hospital, where their condition was reported as good and stable.

This is the second birth in Uman in recent days, occurring during the annual pilgrimage of Breslov Hasidim for Rosh Hashanah. Tens of thousands of Hasidim and visitors travel to Uman each year to be near Rabbi Nachman's tomb during the holiday. Israeli police forces are also present in Uman as part of special preparations to assist the Israeli public visiting the city, with teams handling various incidents, including medical assistance.
