Israeli Child Lost in Uman, Ukraine, Safely Reunited with Parents

A 7-year-old Israeli boy who became separated from his family in Uman, Ukraine, has been safely returned to his parents. The incident occurred on Thursday amidst the annual pilgrimage of Breslov Hasidim to the city for Rosh Hashanah.

An Israeli citizen approached police officers on duty in Uman, reporting that he had found a lost 7-year-old boy. The child, described as very confused and frightened by police, had lost contact with his parents. Officers conducted a thorough interrogation of the boy and searched the area, questioning individuals present.

Following their efforts, the police successfully located the boy's parents. The relieved child was reunited with his family, who expressed their deep gratitude to the Israeli police officers operating in Uman. The police presence and operations continue in the city.

Israeli police forces are deployed in Uman as part of a special preparation to assist the Israeli public visiting for the High Holidays. These teams handle various incidents, including assisting missing persons, addressing malfunctions, and maintaining order and security, especially during the large annual gathering at the tomb of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov.
