Israeli Prospect Orien Goren Promoted Past Barcelona Youth Champions League

Barcelona's U-19 team will begin its Champions League campaign against Feyenoord on Thursday, but promising Israeli midfielder Orien Goren will not be part of the squad. The reason for his absence is his promotion to Barcelona Atlètic, the club's senior team that competes in Spain's fourth division against adult players. Goren is also training with an older age group, leading the club to bypass the U-19 Champions League, which features players aged 18 and 19.

Despite being ineligible for the youth tournament, Goren has been included on the 'B List' for Barcelona's main Champions League squad, receiving jersey number 32. However, it is not expected that he will be called up to the senior team this season. Last year, the young Israeli talent made five appearances in the U-19 Champions League, scoring twice against Olympiacos.

Goren has already made an impact this season for Barcelona Atlètic, starting and providing an assist in their opening match. The team's upcoming schedule includes home games against Logroñés on Sunday, followed by matches against the reserve teams of Girona and Espanyol later in the season.
