Israeli Prospect Orien Goren Promoted Past Barcelona Youth Champions League

Orien Goren, a promising Israeli midfielder, will not be participating in Barcelona's U19 Champions League campaign this season. Instead, the 17-year-old has been elevated to play with Barcelona Atlètic, the club's senior team in Spain's fourth division, and trains with an older age group. This decision means Goren has "jumped a grade" past the U19 Champions League, which features players aged 18 and 19.

Despite his absence from the youth competition, Goren has been included on Barcelona's 'B List' for the main Champions League, receiving jersey number 32. While he is not expected to be called up to the senior squad this season, his inclusion signifies his potential. Last year, Goren made five appearances in the U19 Champions League, scoring twice against Olympiacos, and has already started and assisted in a match for Barcelona Atlètic this season.

Barcelona's U19 team began their Champions League journey against Feyenoord, the same day their senior team defeated the Dutch club 5-1. Goren's current team, Barcelona Atlètic, will play Logroñés at home next Sunday, followed by matches against the reserve teams of Girona and Espanyol later in the season.
