False Alarm Triggers Northern Israel Air Raid Sirens

Air raid sirens sounded across northern Israel overnight Wednesday into Thursday, causing residents in numerous communities along the confrontation line to seek shelter. The alerts were activated around 12:26 AM due to a suspected infiltration of an enemy aircraft into Israeli airspace.

Communities including Beit Hillel, HaGoshrim, Kfar Yuval, and Rajar were affected by the alarms. The military announced the end of the incident approximately ten minutes after it began, with the Home Front Command advising residents to leave protected areas.

Following the event, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) clarified that the sirens were triggered by a false identification, which led to the activation of the alert system in the region. This marks the second such false alarm in the northern sector early in the month.

Earlier this month, similar alerts were activated in the same areas at night. On that occasion, alerts for rocket and missile fire were also sounded due to interception attempts. Hours later, the IDF stated that several interceptors had likely been launched toward a false target.
