Real Madrid Fans Chant Antisemitic Slurs Before Champions League Match

Disturbing antisemitic chants were heard from a group of far-right ultras associated with Real Madrid in the Spanish capital on Tuesday night, shortly before the Champions League match against Inter Milan. Videos circulating on social media show the group near the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium singing, "Jew I see, Jew I kick. Spain is Christian, not Muslim." The incident has sparked widespread condemnation online.

These events are attributed to factions of the notorious "Ultra Sur" organization, known for its far-right extremism, neo-Nazi symbols, and racist incitement. The group's actions also reportedly included burning Moroccan flags and posters of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, amid ongoing issues related to the migrant crisis in Ceuta and political tensions within Spain.

Real Madrid has distanced itself from Ultra Sur for many years. Over a decade ago, the club's management, led by Florentino Pérez, took decisive action to permanently ban Ultra Sur members from the stadium and prohibit their symbols from entering the grounds. This move angered the organization, which has since frequently attacked the club's leadership. Although the club has succeeded in removing the group from the stands, extremist elements continue to attempt to assert their presence outside the stadium before major games.
