Thieves Suspected of Stealing Food Vouchers Meant for Needy Families
Police in Kiryat Malakhi have arrested a suspect in connection with the theft of food vouchers intended for needy families during the holiday season. The incident occurred Tuesday night when an individual allegedly entered the welfare department offices in Bani Ayish and stole envelopes containing the vouchers. The total value of the stolen food vouchers is estimated at approximately NIS 2,250.
Officers from the Kiryat Malakhi station launched an investigation following a report from the welfare department. They quickly located and apprehended a local resident believed to be responsible for the theft. The suspect was taken to the Kiryat Malakhi station for questioning.
Station commander Reuven Castro emphasized the seriousness of the alleged crime, stating, "This is property intended to help families in need, and therefore we view the suspicion of its theft with severity." He added that officers acted swiftly to locate the suspect and recover the property, and vowed to pursue legal action against anyone who harms the property and security of the area's residents.
