Israeli Police Arrest Military Kitchen Worker for Stealing Large Quantities of Food Near Haifa Base

Israeli police launched an investigation after a major theft of food products was reported from a military base kitchen near Haifa. Officers from the Tirat Carmel station responded to a tip about systematic theft and found a suspicious private vehicle parked near the kitchen building. Upon inspection, they discovered approximately 450 kilograms of frozen meat and fish, along with about 60 bags of coffee, all stolen from the base's food supplies. The total value of the stolen goods was estimated at tens of thousands of shekels. The suspect, a kitchen employee, was caught red-handed attempting to smuggle the food in his car, presumably for personal use or resale. He was immediately arrested and subjected to intensive questioning at the police station. Although the police requested to extend his detention during a court hearing, the judge ordered his release under restrictive conditions. The investigation remains ongoing.
