Israeli police arrested a 43-year-old man from Beersheba on suspicion of defrauding a farmer in the Yatir region of the West Bank by impersonating a customer and acquiring cherries valued at approximately 130,000 shekels without payment. The suspect allegedly conducted multiple fictitious transactions, receiving the agricultural produce while posing as another individual. The investigation began after the victim reported the scam, described as a sophisticated con. During the arrest at the suspect's home in Beersheba, police seized two vehicles and numerous documents related to the case. The suspect was taken to the Hebron police station for questioning and subsequently released under restrictive conditions including house arrest and bail.
