Israeli Military Kitchen Worker Arrested for Stealing Tens of Thousands in Supplies
An employee working in a kitchen at an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) base near Haifa was recently suspected of stealing food products valued at tens of thousands of shekels. Following a police report about the theft, officers discovered a suspicious vehicle parked near the base kitchen. Upon inspection, they found hundreds of kilograms of meat and fish, along with approximately 60 coffee packages, all believed to have been stolen from the base.
The suspect was arrested and detained as part of the ongoing investigation. However, despite police requests to extend his detention, a court ordered his release under restrictive conditions. This incident adds to a series of thefts from IDF bases, including a recent case where two active-duty soldiers were indicted for stealing weapons from multiple bases about a month ago.
Authorities continue to investigate these thefts to prevent further breaches of military property and security.
