Local Council Accuses Israel of Destroying Agricultural Road in Ilut

The local council of Ilut (Ailabun) has accused Israeli authorities of destroying an agricultural road serving residents and farmers in the area. The council stated that it was informed the road's removal followed a complaint filed by the Emek Yizrael Regional Council. Sa'ed Abu Ras, head of the Ilut local council, expressed serious concerns, noting the road was established as part of an official project with government funding. He affirmed the council's rejection of the action, emphasizing that it would not accept any measure that infringes upon Ilut's jurisdiction or the rights of its residents.

Abu Ras stressed that developing infrastructure, including agricultural roads and facilitating access to farmland, is a core responsibility of the council and a right of the residents. The council plans to pursue the issue through legal, administrative, and political channels, engaging with relevant government bodies to uncover the reasons behind the road's demolition and assign responsibility.

The council also intends to demand the restoration of the road to its previous state and accountability for the decision, especially since its construction was part of a formal project. Abu Ras reiterated the council's commitment to defending the rights and interests of Ilut's residents, vowing to use all available legal and administrative means to protect the village's lands and ensure its development projects are not hindered.
