Israeli Authorities Demolish Agricultural Road in Einot
Israeli authorities, accompanied by Border Police forces, demolished an agricultural road in the Einot locality on Wednesday morning. The local council had paved the road as part of an official project funded by the Ministry of Agriculture. The move was met with strong condemnation from the Einot local council, which described it as an infringement on the village's rights and an attempt to impose a new reality on its lands.
The Einot council stated that the road served residents and landowners in the area. They were informed that the demolition followed a complaint filed by the "Yizre'el Valley" Regional Council. Saed Abu Ras, head of the Einot local council, questioned the demolition, especially since the road was built as part of an official, government-funded project. He affirmed the council's rejection of this action.
Abu Ras emphasized that the council would not accept any measure that encroaches on Einot's jurisdiction or residents' rights, stressing that developing infrastructure and agricultural roads to facilitate access to land is a core responsibility of the council and a right of the people. He announced that the council would pursue the issue through legal, administrative, and political channels, engaging with relevant government bodies to clarify the circumstances and hold those responsible accountable, aiming to restore the road.
Abu Ras concluded by stating, "We will not allow Einot's rights to be compromised or its projects to be obstructed, and we will use all available legal and administrative means to protect our citizens' interests and ensure respect for the village and its jurisdiction."
