Israeli Authorities Demolish Illegal Palestinian Structures Near Derech Avraham Farm After Attack
The Civil Administration's enforcement unit demolished a series of illegal Palestinian buildings near the Derech Avraham farm in the West Bank on Monday. This area is where farm activist Itamar Cohen was wounded in an attack about ten days ago. This demolition follows a similar operation last week, which targeted illegal structures near Junction 9 and Route 60 in Samaria.
The demolitions were carried out under the directive of Defense Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who emphasized the enforcement against unauthorized construction in the region. Smotrich stated that the destruction of buildings threatening the Derech Avraham farm aligns with their ongoing policy to strengthen settlements and farming enterprises, and to increase professional enforcement against illegal construction.
He added that these demolitions serve as a deterrent while supporting the establishment of over 100 new settlements, aiming to prevent the formation of a Palestinian terror state in the heart of Israel. Smotrich also expressed gratitude to the Civil Administration's enforcement unit, the Settlement Administration staff at the Defense Ministry, the Menashe Brigade security forces, and Border Police fighters in Judea and Samaria for their professional and dedicated execution of the mission.
