Local Council Denounces Removal of Paved Agricultural Road

The local council of Ilut, led by Chairman Sa'ed Abu Ras, has strongly condemned the removal of a newly paved agricultural road within the council's jurisdiction. The road, financed by the Ministry of Agriculture as part of an ongoing official project, was reportedly dismantled by authorities accompanied by border police forces on the morning of the incident. The council stated that the removal raises serious questions, especially since the project was officially sanctioned and funded by the government. According to the council, the demolition was prompted by a complaint filed by the Jezreel Valley Regional Council.

Ilut's local council vehemently rejected the action, viewing it as an infringement on the council's work and its right to develop the town and serve its residents. Abu Ras emphasized that the boundaries, rights, and interests of Ilut and its citizens are a primary responsibility, and the council will not tolerate any measures that undermine these rights or obstruct development projects.

The council announced its intention to address the matter with utmost seriousness at all legal, administrative, and political levels. They plan to engage with government bodies and relevant authorities to clarify the circumstances, hold those responsible accountable, and work towards restoring the road and preventing future occurrences.

Abu Ras further stressed that infrastructure development, including the improvement of agricultural roads and facilitating access for citizens to their land, is not a privilege but a fundamental right of the residents and a duty of the council. The council concluded by affirming its commitment to continue working for Ilut and its people, protecting their interests, and utilizing all available legal and administrative means to ensure respect for the rights of Ilut and its area of influence.
