Labor Ministry Director Praises Haredi Yeshiva's Academic and Vocational Success

Robbie Schמש, Director-General of the Ministry of Labor, visited the "Or Ha'etid" Haredi secondary yeshiva in Gan Yavne, expressing admiration for the students' achievements and low dropout rates. The yeshiva, founded by the Atid educational network, offers a unique program for Haredi youth that integrates religious studies with vocational training.

During his visit, Schמש was presented with the institution's educational and professional activities, highlighting its high qualification rates and near-zero dropout figures, placing it among the leading institutions under the Ministry of Labor's supervision. The "Or Ha'etid" model is designed for Haredi teenagers who wish to maintain a full religious framework while acquiring significant education and professional training to build their future careers.

The program accompanies students throughout their studies, combining religious studies, general education, and technological training. The yeshiva currently has approximately 170 students. Schמש observed how students, even those starting with academic gaps, can progress to achieve four units in mathematics, complete their matriculation exams, and acquire a foundation for advanced technological studies.

Schמש also visited the Haredi Hesder Yeshiva and the "Or Ha'etid" Technological College, where students can pursue a practical electrical engineering diploma after completing their secondary education. The Director-General stated, "What I saw here is a model that succeeds in providing a real solution for Haredi youth who have chosen a path suited to their abilities. The ability to take a student with academic gaps, believe in him, accompany him along the way, and bring him to four units in mathematics and an electrical engineering diploma is, in my eyes, a significant achievement."

He further added that the impressive data and near-zero dropout rates demonstrate that a proper framework, combining a religious environment with high-level professional studies, can open real horizons for young people. The Ministry of Labor, he emphasized, sees great importance in promoting quality training that provides youth with a profession, the ability to advance, and a future in employment.
