Belz Rebbe Released From Hospital After Successful Treatment

Kikar HaShabbatReligious
Translated & summarized from Kikar HaShabbat by baba
The story · English

The Grand Rabbi of Belz, Rabbi Yissachar Dov, has been released from Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem and returned to his residence in Kiryat Belz. He had been hospitalized for several days after feeling unwell. The medical treatment he received was reportedly very successful.

The hospitalization marked the first time the Rebbe missed the initial "Slichot" prayers, a penitential service held before the High Holidays. His son, Rabbi Aharon Mordechai Rokach, led the prayers in his stead.

Following his recovery, the Hasidic community is preparing for the upcoming Tishrei holiday. Plans include the Rebbe praying from a specially elevated platform near the Ark in the main synagogue, allowing thousands of Hasidim to see him. Additionally, his grandson, Rabbi Shalom Rokach, informed thousands of yeshiva students that they would pray in a special minyan in the "Heichal HaTishim" hall. The Rebbe is expected to join them for the morning prayers before returning to the main synagogue for the Musaf service with the larger congregation.

Followers are urged to continue praying for the Rebbe's complete recovery, referring to him as Rabbi Yissachar Dov ben Miriam.
