Three Suspects Arrested in Nazareth Double Murder
Israeli police have arrested three young men, aged 21 to 23, from Nazareth in connection with a double murder that occurred in the city last week. The victims were identified as Noor Nafaa'a and Noor El-Din Helou.
The Northern District's Central Unit (Yamar) conducted a swift investigation into the incident, which took place on the evening of September 2nd. Gunshots were fired at a vehicle in Nazareth, resulting in the deaths of the two individuals. Police forces arrived at the scene, collected evidence, and initiated an investigation before assigning the case to the specialized unit.
Authorities suspect the motive behind the killings is linked to a dispute between local criminal gangs. Police are expected to request an extension of the suspects' detention from the Nazareth Magistrate's Court to continue their investigation.
This double murder occurs amidst a rise in shootings and homicides within the Arab community in Israel. Critics have been vocal about the police's perceived failure to curb the proliferation of weapons and organized crime.
