Businessman Oren Dobronsky Explains Decision to Forgo Knesset Seat

Businessman Oren Dobronsky has revealed the true reason behind his decision to relinquish his secured spot on the Likud party's Knesset list. Despite widespread speculation that financial considerations were the primary driver, Dobronsky stated in an interview with C14 that his professional contributions would be more impactful outside of the Knesset.

Dobronsky explained that he was initially recruited to potentially serve as the Minister for Artificial Intelligence (AI). While a Knesset seat was also considered, he ultimately concluded that he could not make a significant contribution in that capacity. He emphasized that his decision was based on identifying where he could be most effective and meaningful, a realization that grew stronger as the deadline approached.

Addressing rumors about financial motivations, Dobronsky acknowledged that many assume money played a role but insisted it was not the main factor. He noted that if the issues he perceived within the political system applied equally to both Knesset members and ministers, then financial gain was unlikely to be the deciding element. Dobronsky stressed that his focus remains on maximizing his contribution, particularly in the burgeoning field of AI, which he believes requires dedicated effort to develop a strategic vision for Israel's future in the domain.
