Reality TV Star Declines Knesset Seat Offer from Netanyahu

Businessman Oren Dobrovsky, known to the public from the show "The Sharks," will not run for the Knesset on the Likud party list, despite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's invitation to join the party for the upcoming elections. Dobrovsky revealed in a social media post that negotiations with Netanyahu were advanced and included not only a spot on the Likud list but also a senior government appointment in the field of artificial intelligence.

According to Dobrovsky, he was offered a place among the top ten candidates on the Likud list. However, he stated that he preferred to serve as a professional minister, focusing on his expertise in AI, rather than as a Knesset member. He explained that he and Netanyahu agreed on this arrangement, allowing him to contribute his experience without being part of the electoral list itself.

This decision means Dobrovsky will not appear on the Likud's Knesset slate. Nevertheless, he indicated his intention to remain involved in public service and collaborate with Netanyahu, likely in the professional sphere of artificial intelligence. Dobrovsky expressed his commitment to working alongside Netanyahu to establish Israel as a leader in AI.
