IDF Intensifies Gaza Strikes, Hamas Adapts Command Structure

Over the past ten days, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have significantly increased the pace of strikes in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the elimination of 16 Hamas operatives, including five company commanders and four platoon commanders. This sustained targeting of Hamas's field and command ranks has led to noticeable changes in the terror organization's operational conduct. Israeli security officials observe that Hamas operatives, particularly those involved in the October 7th attack, are attempting to conceal their locations by spending more time in civilian population centers. This tactic aims to reduce the likelihood of IDF strikes, based on the understanding that the IDF is less likely to attack in close proximity to civilians.

Due to a genuine concern for the elimination of remaining commanders, Hamas is reportedly considering a shift towards a more decentralized command model. Under this proposed structure, multiple deputies and authorized commanders would be appointed to each operational unit. This would ensure rapid replacement of commanders who are killed and maintain the organization's functional continuity.

Concurrently with these camouflage measures, the IDF is identifying increasing attempts by Hamas to carry out more complex offensive operations against Israeli forces in the field. These efforts include the use of explosive devices and the execution of gunfire.
