Israeli Military Chief Highlights Naval Superiority Amid Modernization

The Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced a significant strengthening of Israel's naval superiority during a ceremony marking the end of the 153rd naval officers' course. He emphasized that a new phase of development for the Israeli military is underway, with a particular focus on the maritime domain.

This strategic focus is part of the multi-year "Hoshen" program, which aims to ensure the country's dominance at sea in the coming years. The program includes the introduction of advanced naval assets, beginning with the new "Dolphin" class submarine, "Ahi Drakon," which is set to be the first of several technological upgrades. These will be followed by advanced "Reshef" class missile ships.

The new weaponry is designed to enhance the navy's capabilities, allowing for extended operational range, longer periods at sea, and increased firepower and operational potential for years to come. The "Ahi Drakon," the country's sixth submarine, is currently en route to Israeli shores in the Mediterranean Sea and is expected to dock within days.

The Chief of Staff stated that the submarine's arrival symbolizes the profound transformation the navy has undergone in the past year, evolving into a powerful strategic force capable of achieving objectives throughout the Middle East and beyond.
