Greece’s disciplinary committee fined Kendrick Nunn €50,000 and ordered Panathinaikos to play one home game without fans after an unusual postgame confrontation with Tyrique Jones following the Greek championship game against Olympiacos.
The decision came after officials reviewed video from the incident outside the locker rooms at Peace and Friendship Stadium. According to the report, Nunn began the altercation with a verbal exchange that quickly escalated into threatening gestures and mutual shoving.
The committee also said Jones played an active role in the confrontation, stating that he initially tried to punch Nunn in the head. The episode took place after Olympiacos beat Panathinaikos 89-85, won the series 3-2, and captured the Greek title.
Panathinaikos coach Ergin Ataman had immediately accused Jones after the game, saying Jones punched Nunn in the locker room and blasting the incident as disgraceful. His remarks came as the dispute became one of the main talking points after the championship decider.
