Jaffa Farah's Candidacy Suspended, Faten Ghattas Tapped for Second Spot on Front List

The Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (DFPE) council overwhelmingly approved a compromise proposal on Monday evening to suspend the candidacy of Jaffa Farah for the second position on the party's list for the current parliamentary term. Farah accepted the proposal to suspend his candidacy for this term, while continuing his political role and contributing to the election campaign leadership.

The DFPE council also elected Faten Ghattas to the second position on the Front's list for the upcoming parliamentary elections, also by a majority vote. Ghattas, from the town of Rameh, holds a PhD in Political Science from Sofia University in Bulgaria, is a leader in the Communist Party and the DFPE, and manages activities for the Association for Combating Cancer in the Arab community.

Farah's acceptance of the compromise was driven by a sense of national and party responsibility, prioritizing the interests of the Front, the party, the joint list, and the electoral battle. This move aims to unify ranks and focus efforts against the significant political challenges facing their constituents.

Farah affirmed his commitment to exert maximum effort in the coming period for his political and social activities, dedicating his full energy to ensure the success of the election campaign, support the Front, the party, and the joint list, and enhance their political and public presence.

The DFPE emphasized that the upcoming phase requires all comrades to increase unity, solidarity, and mobilization to ensure the success of the electoral campaign and achieve the broadest representation for their masses and democratic forces.
