Arab-Israeli Party Replaces Candidate, Elects New Second-Ranked Official

The Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (DFPE), an Arab-Israeli political party, has approved a compromise proposal to suspend the candidacy of Jaafar Farah for the second position on its list for the current parliamentary term. The decision was made by a majority vote within the party's council on Monday evening.

Farah accepted the proposal, citing a sense of national and party responsibility and prioritizing the interests of the DFPE, the joint list, and the electoral campaign. He will continue his political and social activities and contribute to leading the election campaign.

Concurrently, the council elected Faten Ghattas to fill the second spot on the DFPE's list for the upcoming parliamentary elections. Ghattas, from the town of Rameh, holds a doctorate in political science from Sofia University in Bulgaria. She is a prominent leader in the Communist Party and the DFPE and serves as the director of activities for an anti-cancer association in the Arab community.

The DFPE stated that this decision aims to resolve internal disputes and unify the party's ranks, especially given the challenges facing its constituents and democratic forces. The party emphasized the need for continued unity and solidarity to ensure the success of the electoral campaign and achieve broader representation for its supporters.
